In every era of upheaval, every moment the system begins to creak under the weight of its own rot, people start looking for something more than survival. They look for hope. Not platitudes. Not managerial politics. Not the so-called “lesser of two evils.” They look for a leader—one of us—who actually inspires.

I remember voting Labour when Jeremy Corbyn led the party. Normally, I vote Green. But Corbyn was different. He spoke like a man who gave a damn. And more importantly, he acted like one too. Like so many others, I didn’t just vote—I believed. That belief lit a fire that could’ve burned through every corrupt hallway in Westminster if it had been given the chance. And that’s the thing the establishment fears the most—not protest, not noise, but belief. Collective belief. Hope turned into action.

Many of my friends voted Labour in the last election too—but not because they believed. They did it out of desperation. Out of a need to eject the Tories, to slow the rot, to hold the line. I understood that. I sympathised, even. But let’s not kid ourselves: no one believed Keir Starmer was going to stand for the working class, the oppressed, the planet, or the principles Labour was founded on. They weren’t voting for anything—they were voting against something worse.

And that’s not enough. Not now. Not anymore.

Recently in London, half a million people marched for the Palestinians’ right to peace and self-determination. Across the pond in the US, hundreds of thousands show up for Bernie Sanders and AOC when they talk about dismantling oligarchy and redistributing power. Look at the traction Gary Stevenson is gaining—because he’s telling the truth, plainly, passionately, and without corporate compromise. People listen because they believe he has our backs. Because we’re desperate for someone who does.

This isn’t about left or right. It’s about truth or lies. Them or us. System maintenance or radical change.

To those out there who feel the same way—to the potential leaders, organisers, speakers, creators, workers, truth-tellers: we are waiting for you. We are ready. We don’t need messiahs—we need comrades who aren’t afraid to raise their voices and speak for the silenced. Give us hope—real, uncompromised hope—and we will give you an army.

There aren’t enough dollars, algorithms, think tanks, or billionaire-funded media outlets to stop a movement built on truth, equity, and justice. Because once the people believe again, really believe, there’s no stopping them.

So rise up. Speak clearly. Be fearless. We will back you to the hilt. Because this time, we’re not just voting. We’re building a future, and we are ready to fight for it.

Not for them. For us.
